Sometimes in AUTOCAD, to use certain commands need to transform several lines into one polyline. I'll show how to do this.
- To start writing in the command bar "editpol" and press the ENTER key.
- The program will be asked to designate a polyline or more lines. Typing "m" ([multiple]) and then pressing ENTER will indicate that we want to select more than one.
- Select all the lines we want to be part of the polyline and we press ENTER.
- AUTOCAD ask us if we "turn lines, arcs and splines to polylines" write "s" ([Yes]) and confirm by pressing ENTER (or press ENTER directly if the option is selected by default is "Yes")
- In the next step is a list of options to choose how to create the polyline from the lines. In the present case write "j" ([Gather]) and will press ENTER.
- We asked the separation distance, where we choose the default one (<0.000>) therefore only will press ENTER again.
- Finally press ENTER one last time. With this we completed the conversion process and instead of several individual lines have a single polyline.
We hope you have been helpful and not forget that if you have any questions, concerns, corrections, comments, suggestions, etc.. do not hesitate to comment, try to help where we can.
* Some details are not accurate due to different versions of the program currently on the market.
